JESUS WHAT DO I NEED TO DO???

Well, winter is beginning once again here in Calgary, Alberta.  Not quite ready for it but am thankful that I have clothing for the cold and a roof over my head.

It is almost 2:20 pm and I am sitting on my nice comfortable rocking chair with my little block heater at my feet.  It is the beginning of November and the year is almost done.  Thinking about what I have done for the Lord this year and what I need to do to improve my walk with him.

Some very important things should be a priority to me such as get a prayer life where I am close to Jesus and am be sensitive to his voice.  I don't want to be one of the foolish virgins that did not have my lamp full of oil when Jesus comes back for his beloved bride and need to hear the him the shepherds voice when he calls as mentioned below. . .

Matthew 25

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins

1  Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
2  Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,
but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept.
“And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’
Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.
And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’
But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’
12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’
13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

I need to be praying to the place where I am not walking in the flesh but in the power of the Holy Ghost (the Spirit).  Because his people have a relationship with Jesus, he said that his sheep shall know his voice.

John 10

New King James Version (NKJV)

Jesus the True Shepherd

“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”

Jesus the Good Shepherd

7 . . . . .“Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.
I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

The Shepherd Knows His Sheep

27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.
30 I and My Father are one.”

I also need to work on meditating on the word of God daily so that I will know what is required of me by Jesus in my christian walk.  In Psalm 119:11 King David said: "Your word have I hid in my heart, that I sin not against you (God).

Church should always be a priority to me as well, as Jesus word says:

Romans 10

New King James Version (NKJV)

14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Dear Jesus, most powerful God, help me to get close to you and help me to know you.  Let your convictions rest on me until I am where I need to be with you so that I can be used of you by my example according to your word.  Help me to become a wise virgin full of the oil of your precious Spirit. Let me learn to listen to your voice only.  Help me to be strong & not waver with the voices of my flesh, satan & this world.

In Jesus name.  AMEN
